New stores include Hello Kitty and CDV (Companhia Douro & Vouga)
MAR Shopping has established a new partnership with the Portuguese company Pop n’ Shop, which specialises in new retail formats such as pop up stores, store-in-store and nomad stores. As a result of this partnership, two new temporary stores – CDV (Companhia Douro & Vouga) and Hello Kitty – opened on December 1st.
The new stores opened just in time for Christmas and were perfect for finding that special gift for that special someone. CDV sells traditional Portuguese products such as wine, olive oil, biscuits and chocolates from well known Portuguese brands, many of which have won international awards. CDV also offer wine and food tasting sessions. Hello Kitty sells a wide range of accessories and toys from the world’s most famous cat, which surely made many little girls very happy this Christmas.
These temporary spaces’ main goal is to surprise visitors each time they visit MAR Shopping, making it a dynamic shopping centre that is alive and constantly renewing its tenant mix, thus making it more appealing for consumers.
In today’s market, where it is not always easy to have a 100% occupancy rate, pop-up stores are providing shopping centres with a way of staying fully leased and creating an animated and positive atmosphere. Also, it allows brands to test the location, which can lead to a permanent store in the centre.
Difficult times generate good ideas and interesting solutions.
